TEAM PAID HIGH PRICE

The Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has said that his team paid a big prize for not taking the chances when it came in the match against Manchester City in the midweek. Wigan slumped to a 2-0 victory against the Premier league champions, but they could have easily got the victory themselves had they been more clinical in front of goal.

Even the opposition manager Roberto Mancini agreed that his team was extremely lucky to not only come away with three points, but with a clean sheet. The number of missed chances for Wigan in this match has infuriated the manager Roberto Martinez.

MARTINEZ HAPPY WITH START

The Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has said that he is extremely happy with the positive start made by the club in the recent matches. Wigan recently had made a great start against Everton.

Even though they could not hold on to the advantage in the match, the Spaniard was delighted with the progress made by the team over the years. Wigan traditionally struggle to get results early in the campaign, but fight back to save themselves in the latter stages of the season. Martinez has already stated that he does not want such an end to the season this time around.

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has said that he will not stand in the way of manager Roberto Martinez if the Spaniard decides to leave Wigan at the end of this season.

Roberto Martinez has the an incredible job with the Wigan players after keeping them in the Premier league for two consecutive seasons. Despite faced with the prospect of relegation going into the final months of the season, Martinez has been able to keep them in the Premier league.

He came extremely close to leaving the club in the summer, but ultimately turned down the offer from Aston Villa.

It has been an amazing few weeks for Roberto Martinez and his team after they have climbed out of the relegation zone.

They have also managed to create a buffer between them and the teams fighting for the relegation. Even though their recent form may not have been given credit up until now, the 1-0 win over Manchester United has brought them all the plaudits.

MOSES SHOULD BE FIT

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has said that he is hopeful that striker Victor Moses will be fit for the match against Stoke city on Saturday.

Victor Moses was injured in the match against Liverpool after he was kicked by Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel in the head, which has proven to be more serious than initially feared.

Wigan finally won the match 2-1 after a splendid performance, which led to their first win at Anfield. It was initially thought that Victor Moses could have broken his jaw, which would have halted the progress Wigan have been making in the league in the last few weeks.

However, scans have confirmed that the striker has not broken jaw and that there is every chance he will be fit for the match against Stoke city during the weekend.

Wigan Athletic claimed a significant win over Bolton Wanderers at the start of February, but since then, they have been able to get only three points on the board.
