Wigan Athletic manager Paul Cook has assured the supporters that his players will fight for their Championship status till the end despite entering administration. The Latics’ hierarchy recently took the surprise decision to fall into administration and that sees the club facing a 12-point deduction at the end of the campaign.
The club are currently six points ahead of the bottom three, but they will effectively drop six points adrift of safety with the deduction. Wigan have been one of the most in-form sides in the Championship this year, but they were recently outclassed by Brentford, who beat them by a convincing 3-0 scoreline.
