Wigan Athletic have announced that they are delighted to make it known that several of their stars have signed professional contracts at the club, according to their statement on their official website. The players who have been confirmed to have signed the contracts include Sam Tickle (Goalkeeper), Baba Adeeko (Central midfielder), Harry McGee (Central midfielder), Harry McHugh (Central midfielder), and Tom Costello (Striker). The five players have impressed during their stay at the club and have now been handed professional contracts at the DW Stadium. They were playing at the academy and were given some time to prove themselves and they have now gotten the reward they have proven that they deserve.

Adeeko is an 18-year-old midfielder who has showcased himself at the club as a player who is strong with the ball at his feet and has also shown some promising signs of improvement. McGee is also 18 and like Adeeko, he is a promising young talent for the future and one to watch out for. McHugh (18), Tickle (19), and Costello (18) are also not left out.

The three players have been a part of an impressive set of talents at the club’s youth academy ranks and while they have only just signed their first professional contracts, there is a huge belief at the club that they could go on to feature for the senior team sooner rather than later.

The move further shows how interested Wigan are to promote young players to the senior squad and more is expected from them as well.
