Privacy Policy

This website does not employ any form of analytics tools, nor does it utilise advertising trackers, tracking pixels or any ad networks of any kind. When a visitor makes use of the contact form provided on the site, they are asked to provide their name, an email address, a topic and a message. These items of information are employed solely for the purpose of replying to the enquiry. They are sent by email to the members of the site team and are retained only for as long as is necessary in order to deal with the message in question.

In order to prevent spam, the IP address of the sender is converted into a one-way code which is retained for approximately one hour. This measure serves to restrict the number of messages that can be sent. It should be noted that the IP address itself is not stored at any point. The messages received are passed to an automated service known as Grok, which is operated by xAI, in order to assist in distinguishing between genuine messages and those which constitute spam.

The website only sets cookies in relation to individuals who log in for the purpose of managing the site. Certain pages on the site display pictures and posts originating from X, which was previously known as Twitter, and they may also incorporate content from Facebook, Bluesky or YouTube. These external services are able to see the IP address of the visitor and they may also set their own cookies in accordance with their respective privacy policies. Articles that are newly published are shared on the social media pages belonging to the site itself, and in doing so no data relating to visitors is transferred to those platforms.

Individuals who are located in the UK or the EU have the ability to enquire about the personal data which is held concerning them. They may also request that such data be corrected or deleted, and this can be done through the use of the contact page. In addition, they are entitled to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office, which can be found at ico.org.uk.
